I came to Jenn as a newly diagnosed diabetic. My doctor had prescribed oral medication and told me I must watch my diet to control my blood sugar. Jenn developed a healthy diabetic diet regimen for me. We discussed portion sizes, food groups, menu planning, and adjusted recipes as needed. She also encouraged me to exercise for blood glucose control and general health. Jenn showed me various exercises, and motivated me to take a daily 30-minute walk.

It took time and discipline, but I got my blood sugar down to a normal, healthy range. I also dropped 15 pounds, and felt great at my daughter’s wedding! I still follow the diet regimen, walk, and exercise regularly. This lifestyle change has also helped my husband. Jenn helped me regain my health. I feel young and energetic again. My friends and I were an unofficial club. After school and weekends we met at the gym. Jenn was our fitness instructor, and encouraged us to do aerobic and weight training workouts for a healthy balance. She also advised us how to improve our diet in order to build muscle since we were interested in definition. Since marriage and child birth, I have slowly gained weight. After the birth of my third child, I didn’t fit into previous non-maternity clothing, a rude awakening. I feel hungry a lot when I am pregnant and have the tendency to put on excessive baby weight. Afterwards, I have a tendency not to take it off partly because I am tired.
